Epicurious homemade apple pie recipe: no mixer, no eggs, quick and super easy!
- All-purpose flour – 1 cup;
- Semolina flour – 1 cup;
- Sugar – 1 cup;
- Milk – 1 1/2 cup;
- 4 medium apples (peeled, cored, shredded)
- Baking powder – 1 tbsp;
- Pinch of salt;
- Cinnamon – 1 tsp;
Sift flour, add sugar, salt, semolina flour, baking powder and mix thoroughly.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease the loaf pan with butter.
Add 1 cup of dry mixture to the loaf pan. Flatten. Spread 1/3 of the grated apples on top. Add the next layer of flour mixture and spread the next 1/3 of apples. Repeat one more time. Finally, having 3 layers of dry mixture and 3 layers of apples. The apple layer should be on top. Sprinkle it with cinnamon.
Boil the milk and pour into the loaf pan, evenly distributing over the pie surface. Make some holes using knife or fork so that the milk passes to the bottom of the mold.
Bake the cake about 45-50 minutes. Open the oven door and let the pie chill. Remove and place on a plate. Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar.
