Rye bread with caraway seeds recipe for oven – recipe of very tasty homemade bread with rye flour, caraway seeds and malt.
- 1 cup rye flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
- 2 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon malt
- 2 tablespoon caraway seeds
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
Mix 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, yeast and sugar. Add the warm water and stir. Let stand in a warm place until foamy, about 15-20 minutes.
Add malt, salt and half of the flour (rye and all-purpose flour). Knead, and let stand into a warm place until doubled in size.
Add the remaining flour, caraway seeds and vegetable oil. Knead the dough for 7 – 8 minutes, adding additional flour as needed.
Form the dough into a round or oval loaf shape and place onto the oiled baking sheet. Or place the dough into oiled loaf pan. Let stand in a warm place until doubled again (about 20 minutes).
Bake 25 minutes at 180 degrees C (356 degrees F). Grease bread surface of vegetable oil and bake for 5 minutes.
