Great homemade cranberry sauce recipe that is perfect with turkey and other poultry dishes. Quick, easy and delicious!
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoon orange juice
- 1 tablespoon cognac
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
Rinse cranberries with cool water, remove stems and blemished berries.
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to boil. Then the sugar is dissolved, add cranberries, orange juice and cognac and return to boil. Cover the lid, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Let cool completely at room temperature, then transfer to chill in the refrigerator.
